EUROTRAINING is an EC initiative which aims to stimulate the wider exploitation of state-of-the-art microelectronics technologies by European industries. EUROTRAINING provides five Basic Services:
- IC Manufacturing Service (ICMS)
- Multi-Chip Modules (MCMs)
- Microsystems
- Training and Best Practice Service (TBPS)
- Software Support Service (SSS)
The services of the training consortium will include seminars and training courses, particularly in the area of CAD software, design and testing of ASICs, MCMs and microsystems. The courses will include basic and advanced training, hands-on workshops and demonstration of best practice.
EUROTRAINING offers a Quality Labelling accreditation scheme to its course providers. The QL scheme has the objective to deliver high quality standards of training to European industry by checking that course providers have a sound process in place for the development and delivery of training courses. The basis for QL is an assessment using the following criteria:
- Professionalism of course provider and administrative support;
- Accuracy of the course specification and promotional offering;
- Quality and experience of teaching staff;
- Quality of the course material;
- Effectiveness of the feedback system;
